Industrial Nitrogen Plant

The inert gas used in a variety of applications including cutting, purging, cooling and freezing

Nitrogen is a non-flammable air gas that forms 78% of the earth's atmosphere.

Valued for its inert properties in its gaseous form, nitrogen displaces air and therefore, reduces or eliminates the oxidation of materials. It is also used as an assist gas for laser cutting. Given the extremely low temperatures of its liquid state, nitrogen is an ideal gas for cryogenic cooling and freezing.

Nitrogen can be used in virtually any industry to improve yields and optimize performance. It enables the safe storage and use of flammables and prevents the explosion of combustibles. In addition, nitrogen improves the quality and shelf-life of air-sensitive materials such as food, pharmaceuticals and electronic products.

Air Products offers liquid nitrogen and compressed nitrogen gas in a variety of purities and in various modes of supply around the world thanks to our network of storage and transfill facilities.

Types of Nitrogen

Nitrogen is used industrially in two forms: gaseous nitrogen and liquid nitrogen. Each has various important industrial applications and properties, which are explained below:

Cryogenic Distillation

This process relies on liquefying and separating the gases, followed by distilling the desired gas. Atmospheric air is drawn into an air separation unit where it is filtered and compressed. It is then passed through a purification unit equipped with molecular sieves to remove impurities such as hydrocarbons, carbon dioxide, and moisture. Next, it passes through a series of heat exchangers to cool it to extremely low pressures. The air is then transferred to a high-pressure distillation column where the nitrogen is separated from the other gases. The nitrogen forms at the top of the column, is then collected, and distilled to obtain nitrogen of the required purity.

Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA)

Nitrogen is produced using pressure swing adsorption (PSA) technology by generating a stream of nitrogen gas from compressed air in two identical towers of carbon molecular sieves (CMS). Air enters from the bottom of the tower and passes through the CMS. Oxygen and other gases are adsorbed into the CMS, while nitrogen is allowed to pass through. According to a predetermined schedule, the tower automatically switches to regeneration mode, causing the contaminants to evaporate from the CMS. The molecular sieves have pores that allow oxygen to pass through, while nitrogen molecules pass through the CMS and emerge as the product gas.

Nitrogen Gas Plant

The manufacturing process for our gas generation and air separation products adheres to European standards and processes. Ensuring the quality of our products is of paramount importance to our business. We utilize world-class components in manufacturing, including air compressors from the renowned Swedish company Atlas Copco and purification units from Zeokhem, to provide our customers with products that rival the best in the world. We are among the few gas plant engineering companies in India that use argon welding and high-quality stainless steel columns. Our on-site nitrogen system is fully automated, and the entire gas plant system, including the purification unit, expanders, and refrigeration unit, can be controlled from the control room via an integrated programmable logic controller (PLC).

Our company is a trusted leader in the manufacture of nitrogen air separation plants using state-of-the-art deep-cooling technology. Our products are available in various capacities, ranging from 10 to 1000 cubic meters per hour. Our plants feature superior design and durable materials, ensuring reliable and long-lasting performance. Our nitrogen generators produce nitrogen with a purity of up to 99.9%, an excellent ratio for medical and industrial applications. We use ASME-certified materials in the manufacture of all our products, enabling them to withstand extreme pressures and temperatures. Our products have received quality certifications from most leading global companies, including CE and ISO 9001:2008.

Liquid Nitrogen (LIN) Plant

due to our advanced cryogenic air separation process, our liquid nitrogen (LIN) plants are capable of producing nitrogen with a purity of up to 99.9%, meeting the demands of medical, industrial, and scientific applications. Our LIN products have a lifespan of over three decades, thanks to our use of components from leading manufacturers. For example, we use air compressors from Atlas Copco, a globally renowned Swedish company. We also use high-quality molecular sieves from Zeokhem, a leading Swiss company. In short, we source all components from top original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) for our products. All our plants are fully automated using a Siemens programmable logic controller (PLC) system. Most functions can be controlled from a single operator's control room.

We are pioneers in the manufacturing and supply of CE-certified liquid nitrogen plants. Our liquid nitrogen production units are manufactured using state-of-the-art super-cooling technology and feature superior design. Our plants are available in various sizes, ranging from 10 liters/hour to 1000 liters/hour, and can all be customized to meet individual customer requirements. Our factory in New Delhi, India, is equipped with the latest technology for manufacturing super-cooled air separation units, adhering to internationally recognized standards. We hold ASME, CE, and EIGA certifications to ensure rigorous quality control. Our manufacturing process utilizes argon welding and high-quality stainless steel shafts. We guarantee that our products will deliver consistent performance with low maintenance and operating costs over a lifespan exceeding 25 years.
